Fall Fruit Salad

I may have mentioned earlier that I do not like to eat fruit on its own. But I absolutely love the combination and flavors of this Fall Fruit salad.

I have combined fruits that are typically available (and at their best) in the fall/winter months in the United States. The dressing of maple syrup, lime juice and lime zest gives it a nice sweet and tangy taste that goes really well with the fruit combination.

For this Fall Fruit Salad, I have chosen Fuji or Gala apples and Green Anjou or Bosc pears for their taste, firmness and color of the peel. You can choose any other variety that you like.

I recently served this Fall Fruit salad in a small gathering of friends and everyone loved it! The kids got second helpings and I felt good about serving a healthy appetizer. So, include it as one of your appetizers in your next family or holiday gathering. It only takes a few minutes to prepare the fruits and it makes a nice and light addition to your spread.

  • Cut the apples, pears and kiwis in ½ inch dice. Peel the mandarin oranges and separate the segments.
